Vo Hanh (BPTVH).

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: THU THAO (VIET SATELLITE), GRANDMASTER BAC PHONG TU VO
HANH, NGUYEN KINH DOANH, PROFESSOR LY HONG KHANH, AND THU THAM (VIET SATELLITE)
He was born on February 29, 1948 in Thua Thien, Hue City,
Vietnam from a strict, disciplinary and royal family. His great grandfather is Tuy Ly Vuong, the eleventh Prince of
King Minh Mang (1791-1841). BPTVH began to study martial arts at the age of 10
under the tutorship of Meditation Master Bach Van (Ying Yang techniques). The Master gave BPTVH the name Bac Phong.
Since 1965 until 1975, BPTHV took Taekwondo training at
Ohdokwan dojo in Saigon. During the
period of 1967-1990, Grandmaster Doan Tam Anh taught him Con Luan and classical
Martial Arts techniques. In 1989, BPTVH
achieved superior rank.
In 1973 – 1975, Grand Master Ho Hai Long showed him some
varieties of Vinh Xuan branch at Lion Park, Cholon. BPTVH has combined, analyzed, and developed all exercises as well
as katas to be
BAC PHONG MARTIAL ARTS
In addition, he has assisted and made significant
contributions to publish 42 reference World Martial Arts books distributing
worldwide by Martial Arts Books Publisher (Lac Ha & Phan Chan Thanh were
directors in 1968 – 1975).
During the years of
1969 - 1972, BPTVH was the Managing Editor of Vietnamese Martial Arts
magazine.
In 1968, BPTVH was issued Beauty and Weight Lifting Instructor
degree (Certificate no. 082/TDTM/CT dated January 27, 1968, Chief of
Examiner: Professor Le Van Son)
1968 – 1970: Director
of Saigon Law School Martial Arts
In 1989 his book Hand to Hand Combat was used
extensively for Taekwondo and Karatedo instructors. The following year BPTVH was awarded Seventh Degree Black Belt
VOLAMDAO Kungfu and in 2005 he held Seventh Degree Unified Martial Arts.
For four consecutive years, the United States Congress honored
the Great Grand Master Bac Phong Tu Vo Hanh with medals and certificates to
recognize his dedicated as well as outstanding efforts to promote martial
arts. US Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez,
US Congressman Ed Royce, and California State Senator Lou Correa personally
endorsed him.
1997 – 1998 BPTVH was the Editor in Chief of Martial Arts
Magazine in Houston, Texas.
In 1997 the Asian Martial Arts Festival respectfully handed
him the Gold Medal for Internal Powers and BPTVH also was awarded Tennis Gold
Medal (H 45-55, Houston Open)
Two years later, BPTVH obtained Graphics Designer degree in
the United States.
Since the year of 2000
to date, the Great Grand Master Bac Phong Tu Vo Hanh has been the Editor in
Chief of Nguyet San Van Hoc & Vo Thuat (Literature & Martial Arts
Magazine) and General Secretary of Association for the Development of World
Martial Arts.
BPTVH has trained thousands of black belt Taekwondo
students. Among them are Master Duong
Hoang Tuan (Sixth Degree Black Belt Taekwondo, Fifth Degree Black Belt Bac
Phong Martial Arts), the twin beauties Thu Thao and Thu Tham of Viet Satellite…
The Great Grand Master
Bac Phong Tu Vo Hanh is an ideal leader in martial arts. Not only he has advanced in this field but
also in education as well. With a JD
degree from Saigon University of Law, he is among the best and the brightest in
martial arts.
On page 39 of the recent issue of Literature & Martial
Arts Magazine to celebrate the 14th Anniversary of the General
Association for the Development of World Martial Arts BAC PHONG MARTIAL ARTS indicates clearly that due to the very
careful selection of students, the branch has developed very humbly. Since the involvement of extremely dangerous
techniques and katas are a combination of Ying Yang Pai, original Kungfu, Vinh
Xuan, as well as Taekwondo, the selected students must have minimum qualifications
as follows:
First, martial arts training must have at least four
years. Second, humble. Third, wisdom. Fourth, courteous. Fifth,
patient. Sixth, charity. Seventh, honest. Eighth, Filial piety….
We strongly urge viewers to see OUR DECEMBER 2007 SELECTED
PHOTOS to contemplate a magnificent DIAMOND KUNGFU demonstration and other
pictures.

ASTRONOMY. That
is the title of a recent book published by Dr. Bui Trong Can. I love the scientific study of celestial objects
and unexplained phenomena in our world; therefore, Dr. Can’s ASTRONOMY is an
instant hit for me.

I heard a lot about him before.
He was an ARVN Marine Corps Medical Captain in Long Khanh. As a famous singer, he used to sing with
Hoang Oanh. I talked with Dr. Chinh at

together. I told him, “You look very
